my YouTube channel

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to grow my YouTube channel for a few months now, and one thing I’m struggling with is really connecting with my audience through comments. I reply sometimes, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it in a way that encourages people to keep engaging. How do you balance being friendly and professional without sounding robotic, especially when there are so many comments piling up on each video?

I went through the exact same phase when I started my channel last year. One thing that helped me a lot was prioritizing meaningful replies over just “great video” responses. I try to ask follow-up questions in my replies, like if someone mentions they tried a tip I shared, I’ll ask how it worked for them. It makes the conversation feel more natural, and viewers notice the effort. I also batch my comment sessions so I don’t get overwhelmed, maybe spending 20–30 minutes a day responding. Another thing I learned from this helpful video guide (what is liven) is to use your genuine voice and inject some humor or personality—it really builds a community rather than just a comment section. Honestly, after a while, I even started remembering regular viewers’ usernames and what they usually comment about, which makes my replies faster but still personal. It feels less like a chore and more like chatting with friends who enjoy the content.
